About Me

I am a currently a master student in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University working on SafeAI Lab, advised by Prof. Ding Zhao. I believe robot learning is the future.

Prior to CMU, I received my B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2025. At Zhejiang University, I worked on soft magnetic robot supervised by prof.Mingchuan Zhou. I also participated in a summer research internship about fault tolerant control of quadrotor in Arclab, the University of Hong Kong, supervised by prof.Peng Lu. In addition, I spent several months for internship in Dessight Biomedical Company focusing on da Vinci Research Kit.

I will also apply for Ph.D. in robotics in 2027 fall. Feel free to contact me if you have same goals or any questions about myself.

Research Experiences

  1. Object Manipulation with Wristed da Vinci Research Kit
    May 2025 - July 2025   |   Dessight Biomedical Company

Responsible for deploying several benchmark algorithms for a series of manipulation tasks. Also responsible for building RL environment in SOFA and Isaac Sim.

    Under review by ICRA 2026

  2. Capturing Dynamic Target with Magnetic Microgripper via RL
Oct 2024 - Apirl 2025   |   Prof. Mingchuan Zhou, Zhejiang University

Developed an RL policy with a specific network framework for microgripper chasing target in cluttered environment.

Resubmitting to IEEE Transactions on Robitics as a co-first author.

  3. Fault-tolerant Control for Quadrotor via a Fast RL Approach
Aug 2024 - Oct 2024   |   Prof. PengLu, the University of HongKong

Train and deploy an RL policy for controlling a small drone with rotor failure with RLtools, a C++ RL library.

Succeessful in simulation but highly unstable in reality.

Project Experiences

  1. Student Agricultural Robotics Competitions
    Sep 2023 - Dec 2023   |   2024 ASABE

Responsible for mechanical design and building controller on STM32 or Arduino
